Abstract
Objective: To explore the effectiveness of various physiotherapy interventions for chronic ankle instability.
Methods: Searches were conducted in google scholar, Pubmed, etc. A literature review conducted of only randomized control trial that reported extractable data relevant to the study. The search included studies published between 2015 to 2025. Out of many articles only total of 12 randomized control trial studies were included.
Results: After the segregation process, a total of eleven randomized controlled trial (RCT) articles were identified and presented in tabular form. The search process and selection criteria are illustrated in the accompanying flowchart.
Conclusion: The reviewed studies show that balance-focused and multimodal rehabilitation programs effectively improve proprioception, neuromuscular control, and functional stability in individuals with chronic ankle instability. Interventions such as wobble-board training, device-based balance training, neuromuscular strengthening, and combined therapeutic approaches consistently yield positive short-term outcomes.
