The Effect Of Prediabetes Self Management Education Based On Android Application For Hba1c Levels In Prediabetes

Abstract
Introduction : Prediabetes is a condition that will develop into type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DMT2) within 3 – 5 years. Glycemic control is the main intervention in long-term management, structured education is required with appropriate media to help prediabetes the use with mobile health technology. To develop an android application based “Melpredia” application as a health promotion for HbA1c glycemic control and self care management.
Research Method : Research and Development (R&D) and model testing using quasy expreiments with pre-test post-test control group design for 3 months, Januari to April 2021. Samples were taken by purposive sampling technique, that is 15 intervention group and 15 control group. The analysis is Paired t-test and Independent t-test.
Results : Applications “Melpredia” unfit for use by the results of the feasibility test applications with prosentast 89% (Good) and material aspects of the due dilegence with a percentage of 90% (very good). Award application “Melpredia” there is influence of prediabetes self management education to HbA1c of prediabetes (p value 0,001 < 0,005).
Conclusion : It has been composed Application “Melpredia” android based and can effectively improve the HbA1c levels and self care management of prediabetes in preventing diabetes mellitus by utilizing educational menu, meal planning, physical activity and reminders use applications “Melpredia” more effective than conventional.
Suggestion : The results of this study can be used as a reference in providing educational interventions patient with prediabetes.
